Data Exchange
On the right is an example from the 90Mb of MR brain scan images which
are available from this IBSR. Manually-guided segmentation results
(shown as green outlines) are provided for some data sets along with
the corresponding MR images. The MR image data is a T1-weighted
3-dimensional coronal brain scan after it has been positionally
normalized. The segmentation or "outline" files are the result of
semi-automated segmentation techniques which require many hours of
effort by a trained expert. Even though manual segmentations cannot
be considered to be 100% "ground truth", they are a good way to begin
comparing automated segmentation methods.
